Young people will be some of the most severely impacted by the virus and are facing challenges with online learning, sudden loss of work and inconsistent support.
It shouldn’t matter whether you’re a domestic, international, undergraduate, postgraduate, university, apprentice, TAFE student or casual worker – the Morrison government needs to provide adequate support to young people in this time.
Join me in calling on the Morrison government to;
- Expand the jobkeeper payments to allow thousands of causal workers to receive income support.
- Increase the university support package to prevent losing over 21 000 employees and the institutions closures.
- Grant international students access to financial assistance and extend subclass 500 visas for students who now need to stay longer to fulfil their course requirements.
- Exempt students from the parental income test to qualify for Youth Allowance during the pandemic.
