Aboriginal Women's Forum

My office has helped facilitate two Aboriginal Women's Forums over the past two years, one in Perth and one in Roebourne. Our goal is to amplify Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's voices, compiling a report that will inform future Labor policy. The first report you will find here on my website. The second report is due to be delivered in mid-to-late 2020.

We met on the lands of the Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi, Yaburara, Mardudhunera, Won-Goo-Tt-Oo and Noongar people and I pay my respect to their elders past, present and emerging. I thank them for welcoming and including me.

I would also like to thank Linda Burney, Shadow Minister for Families and Social Services and for Preventing Family Violence and Senator Malarndirri McCarthy for travelling to Perth and Roebourne for both forums, and to Tanya Plibersek, Shadow Minister for Education and Training for coming to our Perth forum.
